Education - Tétel

I attend Károly Keleti Secondary Vocational School of Economics. It’s located in the 10th district in Gyakorló Street, near Örs Vezér Square. It’s a very big building. It’s a four-storey building. After entering the building if you turn on the left there’re IT labs, the cloakroom and the doormen’s office. There’s the doctor’s office/surgery, too. On the ground floor, there’s the buffet where you can buy bakes and drinks. In the middle of the ground floor, there’s the hall where students usually spend their time when they have no lesson. The changing rooms are next to the gym and of course, there’re toilets, as well. On the first floor, you can find the staff room. The secretaries are working here. There’s a small exhibition of old gadgets like VHS-cassettes or old computers. There’re lots of classrooms where students’ lessons are usually held. On the second floor, you will find more classrooms and teacher’s rooms. On the top floor which is the third floor, there’s lot of trash including computers and old desks. But there are old desks. But there’s a big room where we usually play table tennis on Tuesday as an activity after lessons. I attend a language preparatory class which means I have one more year for learning language. I have 31 classmates and we have a great community. We have several lessons here, mostly English. I have 18 English lessons a week. It’s very intensive. My long-term aim is to pass the intermediate English language exam. I would like to take it this May. This school has wonderful teaching stuff moreover, some of the subjects are interesting. From next year I’ll also learn History, Geography, Physics, Hungarian grammar and literature and vocational subjects, too. The Hungarian education system is similar to the British. First, you go to nursery school which is optional and free. The second option would be staying at home with your parents. You go there from six month to the age of three. Then you go to kindergarten from the age of 4 to the age of 6. It’s compulsory but free. If I remember well, we didn’t have any responsibility just playing. After finishing kindergarten, you go to elementary school. In the first four years, you go to the junior section. And from the fifth class, you go to the senior section. At the eighth year, children must write an entrance exam in January, then you enter secondary education. They can go to secondary school from the age of 15 to the age of 18. You learn there for 4 years, although we spend here for 5 years. On the fourth year, you must write the school-leaving exam/final exam. After secondary school, you go to higher education like university. But you must pay tuition fee if I’d like to learn. I’ve heard who would like to be a doctor has to pay 600000 Ft for a year and it’s very difficult to get into these universities
