Kép
Introduction: I have been fascinated by economics and psychology. I learned about the hierarchy of needs at the beginning of the year, for this reason, I've decided to write an article about Maslow's theory, which is about our needs and necessities. Maslow's hierarchy of needs: Let me start off by saying that his theory fills an incredibly important part in both economics and in psychology, so I would like to held significance for this. Abraham Maslow was a very influential researcher in his era. He accomplished ground-breaking surveys, which are astonishing. According to his study, published in an academic journal, he identified needs as a pyramid, which was named after him. Based on his study, this triangle could be divided into 5 sections: 1.  Physiological needs: This includes those needs which we wouldn't be able to live without, such as air, food, drink, shelter, clothing, warmth, sex, sleep. Without these necessities, our body wouldn't be able to function pr

Books, Reading and Shakespeare

Introduction: Reading has always filled a vitally important part of human life. I believe that people read less nowadays than they used to, owing to the fact that the role of reading in our lives has substantially changed. Let me tell you why! The role of reading: I firmly believe, that before the digital era reading was more widespread. In the 21st-century reading books had become obsolete, thanks to the internet, where we can find everything we need. Honestly, reading a book is time-consuming, by the fact it takes more time. However, printed books are the best way of expanding / improving your vocabulary. Despite the fact, people tend to read e-books, regular books still hold significance in our life. There are lots of idioms proving the importance of normal books and reading. Idioms concerning books and Shakespeare: I would like to mention William Shakespeare who is an extremely outstanding drama writer in his era. He had enriched the English language with hundreds of words, which w

Sarah Everard's Murder

Introduction: I've heard in the news about  Sarah Everard who is presumed to be kidnapped by a police officer. I was extremely disappointed by her disappearance. I've asked my sister about Sarah's case, and I must confess that I'm  traumatized. For this reason, I decided to express how dissatisfied I am. I will write an essay about this up-to-date and recent topic. Sarah's murder: A serving Metropolitan police officer had been arrested on suspicion of murder. Sarah was a 33-year-old woman, who was walking home peacefully, she didn't expect anyone to murder her. Later, the police had found her body remains near Ashford, in Kent. According to the BBC, the police officer had been identified and arrested since then. He was being questioned about the kidnapping. I surmise that he had been interrogated. I suppose they asked for more details and further information concerning this crime. This case is quite heart-rending due to the fact that the attacker was a policeman

Susan Boyle - Audition Review

Introduction: We were talking about stereotypes / preconceptions / generalizations regarding appearance in the English lesson. I have been extremely interested in psychology for the last 2 months. For this reason, I decided to write an essay about the stunningly fascinating performance of Susan Boyle and in general about judging people by their appearance. Her performance and the reactions: Susan Boyle performed in the first episode of Britan's Got Talent 2009. I'm a huge fan of talent shows in general, and I first saw Susan's act when I was 14 years old. She's was stigmatized owing to her appearance. From the moment she walked on the stage, everybody was laughing, and everyone was against her. No one in the audience had expected, that she will blow the roof of the theatre. She sang "I dreamed a dream" which is a hard song to sing, but she had managed to succeed. Piers Morgan said it was the biggest surprise which he had ever witnessed. Amanda Holden said it&#
