Giving reasons and causes: As it was getting late, I decided I should go home. Current Challenges of Education

Kép
The fast-changing world of globalization: I have heard that children currently attending school have a high chance to go to further education or be employed in Hungary, due to Hungary's being a developing country. What is more, no one knows what these jobs will entail for the future generations. This poses a major challenge for the pupils who need to be prepared for what they'd like to be, inasmuch as teachers have to prepare them for the unknown future. The way we do things will continue changing, but probably at a faster pace. It's considered that skills that are useful today may become obsolete tomorrow and therefore we have to keep abreast of the times. As you know, we have to be able to function in the fast-changing world of globalization. The Internet and technology: You may have heard that technology and the Internet have kept up with education. Rote learning has become outdated and inappropriate. What I believe is that, instead of children's roting, students sho

The History of Homosexuality and Same-sex Marriges

The history of homosexuality: Homosexuality is a vitally important topic from which most people shy away from but it used to be different centuries ago. In ancient Greece, for example, having sexual intercourse was not frowned upon as an odd desire. Having sex with the same gender was not a big deal, as it was considered to be normal and acceptable. The same applied to lesbians, who were attracted by the same sex. The famous poet, Sappho, who lived on the island of Lesbos, addressed his poems to those women, whom she had found attractive. Similarly, with the Romans, they were allowed to fulfil their sexual arousal. However, as the influence of Christianity grew, laws and restrictions were introduced against homosexuality. Engagement between the same gender including men and women appeared to be prohibited and forbidden. In Medieval Europe, attitudes towards homosexuality varied. It was claimed that having practising homosexuality should be punished by capital punishment / death. The va

Underaged children to work in unbearable conditions

Introduction: My lessons are over and the weekend is coming. I attended a complex nature science lesson, in which lesson we were talking about how children are obligated to work in their early years, not to mention the wage given to them is outrageously low. They are badly paid that they have to starve every day and suffer from famine. Apart from this, the children are exploited by these firms which have an incredibly unfavourable impact on these employees' life. I have become slightly interested in this topic, seeing that child labour should be banned. My teacher declared that we ought to be aware of the origin, and the production process of what we consume.  Child labour: The vast majority of people are not aware of what circumstances the produced food is made in, which is an enormously huge mistake. Therefore, I would like to draw attention to this global problem, since a tremendous amount of people are exposed to this danger. I admit that actions must be taken against the emplo

Britney Spears in the Spotlight

So, I'm about to write down what I have heard in the news. (BBC News and  5percangol) The media attention: She has got the media attention because she has been under her father's conservatorship, which allows her dad control over her finances. This sparked the #FreeBritney campaign. There are a tremendous amount of people fighting for her rights since lots of protests have been reported in the news. The famous singer appears to be at the highlight of the newspapers because she has the whole world talking about her. It was announced that she accidentally burned down her home gym during an incident with two lit candles. The 38-year-old mother of two admitted to being so

Shakespeare's Legacy

Introduction: William Shakespeare was one of the most influential playwriters of all time. This year we celebrate the 457th anniversary of the writer's birth. There are lots of speculations on his private life, including sexuality, religion, and whether he was the author of his plays. Whatever may be the truth, his plays have been translated into every major language. There are quite a lot of arguments and controversy going on concerning his life, so I will give you a comprehensible article about his life, and I will dispel all the doubts. Shakespearean Quotes: (5percangol) His life: William Shakespeare was born in Stratford-upon-Avon on April 23, 1564. Son of a leather merchant and a glover, who very likely attended the local grammar school, but there is no proof whatsoever of him going to university. Despite the fact he may have not gone to university he is a very outstanding figure in English literature, due to the brilliance of his plays. He tied the knot with Anne Hathaway in

Good Manners and Bad Manners

Kép
Introduction: First of all, let me start off by emphasizing the importance of behaving properly in public because I'm convinced about the fact that there are unspoken rules that are said to be obvious for everybody. Thus, I would like to held importance for this topic. Therefore, I will express the way I view about this crucial topic. I couldn't write much about the topic because the Student's Book, which we learn English from, is rubbish. Good Manners and Bad Manners Older people can often be heard the younger generation is notoriously disrespectful. I must confess I have to disagree with this since it costs nothing to open the door for ladies or to give up your seat for an elderly person. I firmly believe that the education given to the child has an enormously huge impact on their behavior. Apart from generations, behaviors vary from country to country. Consequently, we should be aware of these differences. I believe that going abroad is full of new opportunities, and we

Verb + ing Forms and Infinitives C1

Introduction: There are lots of unanswered questions concerning verb complementation including infinitives and gerund. Therefore, I have decided to answer these questions and dispel all of these doubts by writing a blog about this topic.  Let me start off by saying, that this blog won't include those basic grammar structures which are needed for the B2 exam.  Thus, I will only be writing about the learning material that is required for the so-called advanced level. Honestly, I have fallen in love with these grammatical structures, for this reason, I will be using them on the C1 exam, to impress the examiners. I want to get good points. Grammar: Some verbs can be either followed by an [object + ing] or a [possessive + ing] with a similar meaning.  Example: I resented Tom winning the prize. OR I resented Tom's winning the prize. (where the possessive noun ends with an ['s]) OR: Mia recalled him buying the book. Mia recalled his buying the book. Similar verbs:  Detest (u
